Communal heating
Energy Assessment Guidance, Greater London Authority guidance on preparing energy assessments as part of planning applications, published by the Mayor of London in October 2018, defines communal heating as: ‘…a general term for a shared heating system in a single building where heat is supplied to multiple dwellings and/or non-domestic uses using pipes containing hot water.’
Heat Interface Units (BG 62/2015) was written by Reginald Brown and published by BSRIA in December 2015. It defines communal heating as: ‘…a heat network comprising one or more heat sources linked to multiple consumers of heat at one site or in one building.’
